Puppies

I breed on a very selective basis. Potential puppy owners must complete an application, available on request.

I send my puppies home with AKC registration, initial vaccines, deworming, microchip, vet check, GenSol test results, BAER hearing results and a customized puppy pack.  I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about your Miniature Bull Terrier goals.
My top priority is to find a wonderful forever home for every pup I breed. Puppies placed for conformation and/or future breeding are available for co-ownership. Sole ownership may be offered on case-by-case basis. My lifelong guidance goes home with each puppy as well.

Pups are raised inside our home and are exposed to various sounds, challenges and environments. I follow Puppy Culture protocols and encourage our new families to utilize this system as well.  Tonka puppies are socialized with other animals (cats, birds and dogs) and persons new to them. They are introduced to the outdoors, crate and potty training, car rides, nail trims, leash training and car rides. The goal is to raise confident puppies who will readily adapt to their new environment.

Pups are selected for their new owners at approximately eight weeks of age.  Gender and color preference will be considered but I make no guarantees. As a new owner, you are responsible to continue the socialization, training and care necessary for your puppy to thrive and grow into a well-mannered, adult mini bull.

Before applying for a puppy, please do your breed research!  Despite their appealing traits, Miniature Bull Terriers are not for everyone.  See the links section to read up on our breed.

If you are serious about showing your Mini Bull in the conformation ring, a great article that helps to elucidate the AKC breed standard is available on the MBTCA website under the “Showing/Judging” tab.  Written in 1992 for the AKC Gazette by Anita Bartell, it is as true today of the breed as it was then.  It is useful for companion homes to read as well, especially the paragraph on temperament, which is the most important aspect of any dog.  Here is an excerpt from Anita’s article regarding the peculiarities of the Mini Bull character:

In this era of widespread anti-dog sentiment, sound temperament is the one element of the Mini’s makeup that is not negotiable. Beauty these days must be more than skin deep. The average Mini has a cheerful, outgoing, fearless, emotionally stable disposition, qualities that make him a good citizen and a great companion. A vicious, aggressive, nervous, or timid dog ought not to be considered for placement. His sense of humor and natural ebullience can sometimes lead to clownish antics in the ring but any “acting up” should always be completely good-natured. Minis just want to have fun!
